Sbi Launches Special Personal Loan Scheme For Agniveers, Offers Concessional Rates To Defence Personnel

news

Just 43 days are left for Agniveers to avail a collateral-free personal loan of up to ₹4 lakh, with no processing fees. State Bank of India announced this special loan scheme for Agniveers under the Government of India’s short-term Agnipath recruitment programme on the occasion of the 79th Independence Day, reported PTI.

Under this scheme, Agniveers with an SBI salary account can avail loans up to ₹4 lakh without any collateral and with a complete waiver of processing fee.

What will be the interest rate and charges on SBI’s special loan scheme for Agniveers and Defence Personnel?

As per reports, the bank has set the interest rate at 10.50% flat for all defence personnel. This concessional rate remains in effect until September 30, 2025.

SBI noted that this facility is in addition to its existing offerings available under the Defence Salary Package, which has long supported Agniveers among other defence personnel.

SBI Chairman C S Setty said:

“At SBI, we believe that those who are protecting our freedom…deserve our unwavering support as they build their futures. This zero-processing fee is just the beginning as we continue to create solutions that will empower India’s brave hearts in the years to come.”

Example Comparison

Let’s consider an Agniveer applying for a ₹4 lakh loan under two scenarios:

  • With processing fees (assume a typical processing fee of 1% of loan amount = ₹4,000)

  • Without processing fees (as per this scheme)
