Vehicle Registration Process at RTO Agra


If you want a Registration Certificate (RC) for your vehicle, you don’t want to do much; just follow these steps:

Documents Required for Vehicle Registration in Agra
 

Prepare the following documents before visiting the RTO Agra office:
 

  • Application Form 20 (with dealer/manufacturer’s certificate) 
     
  • Form 21 / Sale certificate from dealer or manufacturer ‒ for new vehicles. 
     
  • Road-worthiness certificate (Form 22). It is generally given by the manufacturer or an approved agency.

If you want your RC as a smart card, pay an extra ₹200. Also, the Late renewal fee for a motorcycle is  ₹300/month, and for other vehicles, it is ₹500/month. As per your need, carry the cash, don’t rely on UPI only. 

How to Get a Driving Licence in Agra?

For issuing a driving licence, you can either visit the RTO Agra office or do it online. The table below briefly explains the steps involved in both modes:

  1. Go to the Parivahan site.
     
  2. Select Uttar Pradesh from the drop-down list under the Select your state section. On the next page, select the second circle-shaped option, which is in blue. It says: Apply for a Driving Licence.
     
  3. On the next page, you will see the following instructions: 
     
    1. Fill Applicant Details
       
    2. Upload Documents
       
    3. Upload Photo and Signature if required (applicable for only some states)
       
    4. DL Test Slot Booking (applicable for only some states)
       
    5. Payment of Fee
       
    6. Verify the Pay Status
       
    7. Print the receipt
       
  4. Read them and then click on Continue.
     
  5. On the next page, from the Select Appropriate Choice section, select one of the valid options for your case:
     
    1.  holding a Learner's Licence
       
    2.  holding a Foreign DL
       
    3.  holding a Defence Licence
       
  6. Now fill in the required details, submit the documents and photo and book a slot for the DL test. 
     
  7. Once you have made the payment, take the receipt. 

Offline

1. Visit RTO Agra, get the DL application form.
 

2. Fill in the paper form, attach documents.
 

3. Pay fees at RTO.
 

4. Take a learner’s licence first.
 

5. If you already have a learner’s licence, appear for the driving test.
 

6. On success, a permanent Driving Licence is issued.

How to Pay Road Tax Online in Agra?

To pay the road tax online in Agra, follow the following steps:

  1. Visit the Transport portal of the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
     
  2. Move your cursor from the Online Service tab to Tax Payment, to the UP State Vehicle option if the vehicle is from UP. Click on the Other State Vehicle option if the vehicle is not from UP.  
     
  3. On the next page, on the left-hand side, under the Choose option to avail Services, enter the Registration number and then click Proceed.
     
  4. Click on the first orange circle that says Pay your taxes.
     
  5. Fill details like: Vehicle Registration No. And Chassis Number and verify the, verify.
     
  6. The system will compute the tax (based on vehicle type, fuel, seating/capacity, cost, etc.).
     
  7. Pay via available payment modes (net banking, cards, etc.).
