Axis Bank and IndiGo have launched 2 co-branded credit cards on RuPay and Visa, promising faster BluChips accrual, lounge access, and lifestyle offers.

Axis Bank and IndiGo on February 18, 2026 announced a new co-branded credit card partnership aimed at frequent flyers and everyday spenders who want travel-linked rewards. The launch includes 2 variants, IndiGo Axis Bank Credit Card and IndiGo Axis Bank Premium Credit Card, both available on RuPay and Visa networks.

The proposition is centred on earning IndiGo BluChips on spends, with higher earning potential on IndiGo channels, plus lifestyle add-ons like lounge access and entertainment deals. Axis Bank has also highlighted lower forex markup on the premium card for international spends.

What Is The Development?

Axis Bank’s official release confirms there are 2 variants with different pricing and benefits. The base card is priced at ₹799 + GST, while the premium card is priced at ₹5,000 + GST. Both are positioned as travel-first cards, but with a strong lifestyle layer, lounge access, and partner-led offers.

What Is The Development

The most visible hook is rewards in BluChips, IndiGo’s loyalty currency, which can be earned on eligible spends and accelerated via IndiGo bookings and spends.

Here is the official snapshot of fees and rails, as published.

What The Cards Are Promising?

The premium card’s earn structure has been laid out clearly in the Axis Bank announcement: 7 BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo spends, 3 BluChips per ₹100 on hotels and groceries, and 2 BluChips per ₹100 on other eligible categories. Axis Bank also highlights a reduced forex markup of 2.5% on international spends for the premium variant.

On the base card, IndiGo’s partner page advertises “up to 19 BluChips per ₹100” on flight bookings on IndiGo channels, with the “up to” construct explained as a combined earning outcome across components such as booking channel and loyalty tier. It also lists a welcome benefit of 1,200 BluChips via voucher for the base card.

On benefits, Axis Bank is also pushing lifestyle hooks. The premium card page lists a BookMyShow Buy 1 Get 1 movie offer once every month, alongside lounge access details as per published terms.

What Came Before This Launch?

IndiGo has been building a broader loyalty ecosystem around partnerships, while banks have been scaling co-branded cards as a high-activation route in retail lending. IndiGo’s investor release (dated February 18, 2026) frames its scale: 400+ aircraft, 2,200+ daily flights, 95+ domestic and 40+ international destinations, and 124 million customers in CY25. It also references recognition at the World Airline Awards 2025 and a punctuality ranking by Cirium in 2025.

What Came Before This Launch

In the recent past, IndiGo-linked cards have been active across issuers. One example: LoansJagat reported the launch of the IndiGo SBI Card in September 2025, signalling continued issuer interest in airline-linked acquisition funnels.

Media coverage of the Axis-IndiGo tie-up has also underlined the mix of travel and lifestyle benefits, with mainstream business and wire reports focusing on accelerated rewards and lounge access as headline hooks.

What Key Players Have Said?

Axis Bank’s Arnika Dixit said the partnership is designed to deliver “unmatched value” for both “casual travellers and frequent flyers” through accelerated rewards and travel privileges.

IndiGo’s Neetan Chopra said the cards will help convert “everyday spends into IndiGo BluChips” for loyal flyers. The same release also includes perspectives from NPCI (for RuPay) and Visa on rewarding and experience-led card usage trends.

Conclusion

For IndiGo flyers, the new Axis cards push a direct value pitch: faster BluChips earning plus lounge and lifestyle add-ons. For Axis Bank, it is a sharper travel-led acquisition play with RuPay and Visa reach.
