On the Payment Option page, Standard Chartered lists Auto-debit, Cheque, Cash, and digital modes under “Other Payment Options.” Standard Chartered also provides a CardNet/BillDesk portal for credit card payments via the internet.

Standard Chartered Credit Card Bill Payment: Online Methods

The “online methods” for paying Standard Chartered credit card bills include:

  1. Website/Web portal payments (via CardNet/BillDesk)
  2. Online Banking
  3. Interbank fund transfers (NEFT/RTGS/IMPS)

Though it does not support any app-based payment, these cover most use cases for digital (internet-based) payments. Also, the use of UPI is not mentioned on the official portal. 

Standard Chartered Credit Card Bill Payment through Website

One of the common ways people like to make payments is through the website or the BillDesk portal. You can make the Standard Chartered credit card bill payment too, just follow these steps:

  1. Go to Standard Chartered’s credit card payment page
     
  2. The second option is of ‘Bill Desk’. Click on the green text that says ‘Proceed to Payment’. 
     
  3. On the CardNet/BillDesk page, you enter your 16-digit credit card number, select card type (Visa/MC), etc.
     
  4. Once card info is entered, you will be routed to choose your bank account/net banking/debit card to make the payment via the gateway. (implicitly via BillDesk interface) 
     
  5. You will need to complete OTP/2FA as required by your bank/gateway. Confirm the transaction.

After payment, you should be shown a confirmation or transaction ID. Use that for your records.
After some time (depending on bank settlement), check that your credit card has been credited for that amount.

Standard Chartered Credit Card Bill Payment through Mobile App

Standard Chartered Bank has the SC Mobile app. However, on the official page, it does not mention the use of the mobile app to make Standard Chartered credit card bill payments. Though you can use the net banking on the app. So, to know the steps, read the next section. 

Standard Chartered Credit Card Bill Payment through Net Banking

Standard Chartered allows certain interbank fund transfer methods, which can be used to pay credit card bills. Steps are:

  1. Go to Standard Chartered’s credit card payment page. The first option is for ‘Online Payment’. Click on the green colour text (‘Proceed to Payment’)

  1. Log in using your UserID, password and captcha. Click on ‘Login’.
     
  2. Go to the menu and select payments, then choose pay credit card. Or go to the men, select credit cards, and then choose credit card payment.
     
  3. Enter the required information and click next.
     
  4. Select your preferred payment account and click next
     
  5. Enter the ETAC that was sent to your registered phone number to verify the transaction
     
  6. Confirm the payment.

Standard Chartered Credit Card Bill Payment through UPI

Standard Chartered Bank does not mention UPI as one of the methods to clear credit card bills on the official portal.

Standard Chartered Credit Card Bill Payment through NEFT/RTGS

As part of the interbank transfer options, NEFT/RTGS/IMPS are viable ways. To make a Standard Chartered credit card bill payment, follow these steps:

  1. Get the Correct Payee Details: 
    1. Beneficiary Name: Standard Chartered Bank Credit Card
    2. Account Number: Your 16-digit Standard Chartered Credit Card number
    3. IFSC Code: SCBL0036001
    4. Bank Branch: MG Road, Mumbai
       
  2. Log in to your bank’s Net Banking or Mobile Banking portal and go to the ‘Add New Payee’ or ‘Add Beneficiary’ section. Enter the above details exactly as provided. Make sure the credit card number entered as the account number is correct.

    Some banks require a short activation period (generally 30 minutes to 4 hours). Wait until the beneficiary becomes active for fund transfer.
    Once activated, choose NEFT for normal payments or RTGS for higher-value, same-day transfers (typically for amounts ₹2 lakh and above).
    Enter Payment Details
     
    1. Transfer Amount: Enter the exact amount you wish to pay.
       
    2. Remarks/Purpose: You can mention “Credit Card Bill Payment – [last four digits of your card number]” for easy reference.
       
  3. Verify the details and authorise the transaction using your bank’s OTP, password, or PIN. Submit the request to process the transfer.
     
  4. After the NEFT/RTGS settlement (usually within a few hours on working days), log in to your Standard Chartered Internet Banking or SC Mobile app to confirm that the payment has been credited to your credit card account.
     
  5. Keep the UTR (Unique Transaction Reference) or confirmation number from your bank as proof of payment. This can be used for tracking or resolving any disputes later.

RTGS is suitable for large amounts (above threshold) and has fixed service hours. NEFT is more flexible. This is general banking behaviour in India.

Here are the recommended best practices:

  1. Use official SC channels. Get all the official links from the official portal.
     
  2. Set up auto-debit/standing instructions. On the SC site, “Auto debit” is listed among payment options. Enrol your card for auto payment so you don’t miss due dates.
     
  3. For web/app payment, register your credit card so future payments are faster. In SC’s BillPay/SC Mobile, the “Add Biller”/“My Billers” section supports managing billers/recurring payments. 
     
  4. The linked bank account (or SC account) must have enough funds; if insufficient, the payment may fail.
     
  5. Banking settlement delays may occur on weekends or holidays; paying a day or two in advance mitigates risk.
     
  6. For any discrepancies, these help you track or dispute a payment.
     
  7. After submitting, check your credit card account or statement to ensure the amount was applied.
     
  8. Watch for service charges/limits. Although SC’s “Visa Credit Card Payment” does not currently charge for transfers, always check for any updates or fees.

You can definitely continue paying your standard Chartered Credit card by cheque or cash. However, if you follow these tips and pay online, you will save a lot of time and effort
