Aadhar Card Download – Steps to Download e-Aadhaar Online

Aadhar card is an important document which acts as an identity and address proof for any citizen of India. It is a 12-digit unique identification number which is issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

After getting the enrolment done for Aadhar, the applicant receives an acknowledgement slip which contains the enrolment ID. One can download the Aadhar card by using the Aadhar number or enrolment ID provided by UIDAI.

Download E-Aadhaar card with Aadhaar number

To download and print e-Aadhaar card online,

Step 1: Go to Aadhar official website https://uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: Click on ‘Download Aadhaar’ option. You can also directly visit the link https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/


Step 3: From under “I Have” section, select the “Aadhaar” option.
Step 4: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.


Step 5: Enter the Captcha Verification Code.
Step 6: Click “Send OTP” option to send a one-time password on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP.


Step 7: Complete the given survey. To download the eAaadhar card, click on “Verify And Download”.

Download E-Aadhaar by Using Virtual ID

To download E-Aadhaar by using the Virtual ID, follow the below-given steps:

Step 1: Visit UIDAI’s website.
Step 2: Click on “Download Aadhaar”.


Step 3: From under the “I Have” section, select the VID option.


Step 4: Enter in your virtual ID, full name, pin code and security code
Step 5: Click on “Send OTP” to generate a one-time password. To authenticate your request, you can also use OTP feature.
Step 6: e-Aadhaar will be downloaded on your computer.
Step 7: To access it, enter the 8 digit Aadhar card password which is the first four letters of your name in CAPITALS and “Year of Birth”.

Download Aadhar card by enrolment number

If you haven’t received the Aadhar card and want to download it, then you can do so by entering the Aadhaar Enrolment Number (EID). To do so, follow the below-given steps:

Step 1: Visit Aadhar online portal www.uidai.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on “Download Aadhaar”. You will be redirected to the link  https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Step 3: Enter the 14-digit enrolment ID number and 14-digit time and date values.
Step 4: Also enter your full name, pin code and image Captcha code.


Step 5: Click on “Request OTP” to generate the one time password. Press ‘Confirm’.
Step 6: Enter the OTP which has been received on the registered mobile number and click on the “Download Aadhaar” option.

Aadhar card download by name and date of birth

You can also download your Aadhar card by entering your name and date of birth. To do so, follow the below given steps:

Step 1: Open Aadhaar website https://uidai.gov.in/my-aadhaar/get-aadhaar.html
Step 2: Enter your full name along with your registered e-mail ID or mobile number and the security code.
Step 3: Click the “Send OTP” button to receive a one-time password on your registered mobile number. Click on “Verify OTP” button.
Step 4: You will see a message on the screen informing that the Aadhaar number has been sent to your registered mobile number.
Step 5: Visit the e-Aadhaar page on the official UIDAI website and click on “I have Aadhaar” option.
Step 6: Enter Aadhaar enrolment number, full name, pin code, image captcha code.
Step 7: Click “Request OTP” to send a one-time password on your mobile phone.
Step 8: Enter the OTP and click on “Download Aadhaar” to download it.

Procedure to Download Masked Aadhaar Card

Masked Aadhaar card is your regular Aadhaar card with only last 4 digits of your Aadhaar number visible. The main purpose of masking the Aadhar is to protect it from getting disclosed to others. To download the masked Aadhar card, follow the below given steps:

Step 1: Click on https://eaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/
Step 2: In the “Enter your personal details” section, select Aadhaar, VID or Enrolment Number.
Step 3: From the “Select your preference” section, select “Masked Aadhaar”. Enter your Aadhaar number, full name, pin code and the security code.
Step 4: Click on “Request OTP” to regenerate OTP.
Step 5: Click on “I Agree” to allow UIDAI for authentication using your personal details.
Step 6: Click on “Confirm” to send a one-time password to the registered mobile number.
Step 7: Enter the OTP.
Step 8: To download masked Aadhar card, click on “Download Aadhaar”.

How to Download e-Aadhaar from DigiLocker Account

UIDAI has collaborated with DigiLocker by linking Aadhar with DigiLocker account. To download e-Aadhar from your DigiLocker account,

  • Step 1: Login to your DigiLocker account by visiting https://digilocker.gov.in/
  • Step 2: “Sign In” by entering your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
  • Step 3: Click on ‘Verify’ to generate OTP and receive on your mobile.
  • Step 4: Enter the OTP. Click on ‘Verify OTP’.
  • Step 5: ‘Issued Document’ page appears on the screen. You can Download ‘e-Aadhaar’ using the ‘Save’ icon.

Steps to Download e-Aadhaar through Umang App

Follow the below given steps to download e-Aadhaar through Umang app:

  • Step 1: Download and open the Umang App
  • Step 2: Under All services tab, click “Aadhaar Card”.
  • Step 3: Click on “View Aadhaar Card From DigiLocker”
  • Step 4: Login using your Aadhar number.
  • Step 5: Enter the OTP and click “Verify OTP”.
  • Step 6: Download Aadhaar by clicking on the download icon.
