HDFC Bank Current Account Eligibility Criteria

To open a current account with HDFC Bank, the following entities are eligible:

  1. Resident Individuals
    • Any Indian citizen residing in India.
    • Must meet the bank’s Know Your Customer (KYC) norms, including identity and address proof.

  2. Hindu Undivided Family (HUF)
    • Must be represented by the Karta (head of the family).

    • Incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013.
    • Required documents include a Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum & Articles of Association, PAN, board resolution, and KYC documents of directors.

1. Sole Proprietorship Firm

To open a Current Account for a sole proprietorship firm, the following documents are required:

  • List of all existing Designated Partners with Designated Partner Identification Number (DPIN)
  • A resolution was passed at the meeting of Designated Partners authorising the banking relationship

How to open an HDFC Bank Current Account Online?


Step 1: Visit the official website of  HDFC Bank.


Step 2: After visiting the site, scroll down and in the navbar, you will see the  “SAVE” option. Hover your cursor on that, and on the left-hand side, you will see the “Account” section, under which you will see the “Current Account” section. Click on that.
