Every Paytm Payments Bank account comes with a savings account number, usually 10 to 12 digits, in the app next to a fixed IFSC code. You’d find it under Savings Account Details. The RBI withdrew the licence of Paytm Payments Bank on April 24, 2026, which means that the given account number will not be able to receive any new deposits or transfers.
Those people who had been using a Paytm Payments Bank account at any point in time in India, and now require the account number. This is important at present, as the RBI had withdrawn the licence of this bank on April 24, 2026, making the purpose of this particular number entirely different from before. Many users have accounts with this bank, whose balances remain untouched.
Paytm Payments Bank gave every customer a savings account number the moment they opened an account through the app.
It functioned like any other bank account number, capable of receiving NEFT, IMPS, or salary payments. Each account also came bundled with a RuPay debit card and carried no minimum balance rule, going by Paytm Payments Bank's own site.

Tap the Bank Account icon in the Paytm app, then head to Savings Account Details.
Even older accounts still show this number, though the bank can't run new transactions on it anymore.
A Paytm account number and its IFSC code follow one fixed format, the same for every user across India.
You'd use it to receive NEFT or IMPS credits, or to add your Paytm account as a beneficiary on another bank's app.
Handle your Paytm account number the way you'd handle any bank detail, and check it against the fixed IFSC code before sharing it anywhere.

Not anymore. The RBI shut it down effective at the close of business on April 24, 2026.
Acting under Section 22(4) of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949, the central bank pointed to conduct that hurt depositors' interests. This wasn't sudden either. Restrictions from January 31, 2024 had already blocked fresh deposits and credit transactions after February 29, 2024. The RBI said it would ask the High Court to wind up the bank, and confirmed it holds enough liquidity to repay every depositor in full.
Your balance stays safe, and it gets repaid through a court-supervised winding-up process, though there's no fixed timeline yet.
RBI's clarification from February 16, 2024 confirmed that withdrawals up to your available balance are always allowed, along with credits like refunds, cashbacks, and interest. New deposits, salary credits, or UPI transfers into the account are off the table now. If you're still holding a balance there, moving it to an active bank account is the smarter move while winding up plays out.
Your Paytm account number still holds up for verification, tax filing, and pending refunds. Since Paytm Payments Bank's licence stands cancelled from April 24, 2026, it can't work as an active banking channel anymore. If you're still holding funds there, check your balance today and move it to another bank without delay.
It can be approximately between 10 and 12, based on when the account was made.
Go to Bank Account, then Savings Account Details, after entering your passcode.
Every account carries PYTM0123456, and that code never changes.
Only refunds, cashbacks, or interest can be credited, not fresh deposits.
Yes. The RBI confirmed full repayment liquidity for the winding-up process.
No. New account opening had been discontinued on March 11, 2022.
Check it against your app's Savings Account Details and the fixed IFSC PYTM0123456.
Yes, withdrawals up to your available balance have always been allowed.
Paytm moved UPI processing to partner banks after the 2024 restrictions.
The RBI's press release page carries the latest confirmed status.
