Banks & NBFCs Offers
IndusInd Bank and EazyDiner have taken their lifetime-free dining card to RuPay, adding UPI payments while retaining restaurant, movie and membership benefits for customers nationwide.
In the short term, regular EazyDiner users may cut eligible restaurant bills without paying a joining or annual charge. RuPay gives the card a use outside the restaurant app too. Over time, that could encourage customers to put more everyday purchases on credit. The downside is easy to miss. ₹21,495 is a maximum promotional value, not assured cashback. Interest, late charges or unnecessary restaurant spending could wipe out a large part of the saving.

The promoted figure has 3 parts. Each part carries its own payment route, monthly limit or usage condition.
Only ₹18,000 comes from the extra restaurant discount. The remaining ₹3,495 is the stated value of movie tickets and the initial Prime membership. A customer must therefore use several different benefits across 12 months to reach the headline number.
The additional dining offer can help someone who already books through EazyDiner. To receive the full ₹500 on a transaction, the eligible payable amount must reach at least ₹2,500 because the discount rate is 20%. Claiming the full annual dining value requires 36 qualifying payments. That works out to at least ₹90,000 in eligible PayEazy spending over 12 months. The offer also covers qualifying takeaway transactions.
RuPay expands where the card can be used. Cardholders may link it to BHIM, Google Pay, PhonePe or Paytm, create a UPI PIN and pay at eligible merchant QR codes. The payment habit is already widespread. The Department of Financial Services released its “Socio-Economic Impact Analysis of the Incentive Scheme for Promotion of RuPay Debit Card and Low-Value BHIM-UPI Transactions (P2M)” during Chintan Shivir on 13 and 14 February 2026. The Press Information Bureau posted the findings on 16 February 2026 at 2:44 pm under Release ID 2228651. Its survey found that 65% of UPI users made several digital transactions daily.
Independent card reviewers generally place this product closer to a specialist dining card than an all-purpose rewards card. Customers need to book an eligible restaurant and pay inside the EazyDiner app through PayEazy to receive the additional 20% discount. Swiping the physical card, paying with another card, using a wallet or making an ordinary UPI payment will not trigger that restaurant offer. Consecutive transactions at the same restaurant within 120 minutes are restricted as well.
LoansJagat’s assessment is straightforward. A fee-free card can still become expensive when the holder carries a balance. Its earlier report on how India’s payment shift is changing UPI and card use, published on 22 April 2026, explained why RuPay credit cards are moving regular card spending onto familiar QR payments. For this card, the safer approach is to check nearby participating restaurants, estimate normal monthly use and pay the entire statement by the due date. The advertised saving should follow existing spending, not create fresh spending.
The Platinum card earns 2 Reward Points for each ₹100 spent on most eligible purchases. Insurance, rent, utility and government transactions earn 0.7 points per ₹100, while fuel earns no reward points. IndusInd Bank values 1 Reward Point at ₹0.20. On a standard purchase earning 2 points, that produces an effective return of 0.4% before any exclusions.
New cardholders receive 500 welcome EazyPoints. Eligible EazyDiner bookings earn 2X EazyPoints. The bank also offers 2,000 Reward Points after ₹30,000 of qualifying expenditure in 90 days, although dining payments do not count towards this target. Spending ₹30,000 within that period can renew Prime membership for 3 months. A 1% fuel-surcharge waiver is listed, with GST on the surcharge still payable.
The companies already had a dining-card partnership before the RuPay announcement. IndusInd Bank introduced the EazyDiner IndusInd Bank Platinum Credit Card on 16 January 2024 as an entry-level product with no joining fee. It offered 3 months of Prime membership, EazyPoints and an additional discount for payments made through PayEazy.
The 2026 development places that Platinum proposition on RuPay. This gives customers the option to use the credit card through supported UPI apps between restaurant visits. Coverage figures need care here. The launch release refers to EazyDiner’s wider access across more than 40,000 restaurants in India and Dubai, while the bank’s product terms mention Prime offers at more than 2,000 participating premium restaurants and bars. Applicants should check the eligible list for their own city.

Jagdeep Mallareddy, Executive Director at IndusInd Bank, said the partnership brings RuPay credit-card payments on UPI together with dining privileges. His comments focused on fitting the card into routine customer payments rather than limiting its use to restaurant bills.
Kapil Chopra, Founder of EazyDiner, said the company wanted to reward restaurant visits while matching the way India pays in 2026. He said RuPay allows customers to use the card through UPI apps while accessing dining, entertainment and membership benefits. The 2 stakeholder statements describe the same commercial goal from different sides. IndusInd Bank gets more payment occasions, while EazyDiner gets a stronger reason for customers to book and pay inside its app.
The launch also shows why co-branded cards are becoming more specific. Instead of offering a broad reward catalogue, this product ties its strongest return to 1 booking platform, 1 payment path and repeat dining. That can make redemption easier for a loyal EazyDiner customer. It can also reduce flexibility for anyone who prefers restaurant deals from several apps or changes dining venues often.
The EazyDiner IndusInd Bank Platinum RuPay Credit Card can suit regular diners who already use PayEazy and repay credit-card bills in full. It removes joining and annual fees, adds UPI merchant payments and keeps the existing dining proposition active.
The ₹21,495 figure still needs restraint. Reaching it requires repeated restaurant payments, 12 monthly movie redemptions and use of the initial Prime membership. Occasional diners may receive far less. The useful number is the amount a customer can save without changing normal spending.
Yes. IndusInd Bank lists a ₹0 joining fee and a ₹0 annual fee. Finance charges, late-payment fees and other transaction-related charges can still apply when the cardholder misses payment terms.
The RuPay variant works at eligible merchant QR codes after it is linked to a supported UPI app. Person-to-person transfers and restricted merchant categories may not be available.
No. The extra discount requires an eligible EazyDiner booking and payment through PayEazy using the Platinum card. An ordinary UPI scan will not activate that benefit.
No. The highest value assumes 3 full dining discounts each month, 12 BookMyShow redemptions and the Prime membership value. Missing any component reduces the annual benefit.
Its value may be limited. Applicants should check participating Prime restaurants, usual bill sizes and PayEazy availability in their city before applying. UPI rewards alone offer a relatively modest return.
