While digital transactions are on the rise, cheques remain far from extinct. Here's the breakdown:

Time Required: 3 to 5 minutes.
Cost: Free (for the first 10 leaves per year).
Steps:
Download the YONO SBI app.
Log in with an MPIN or a fingerprint.
Go to the 'Service Request' tab.
Select 'Cheque Book' from the 'Requests' menu.
Choose:
Delivery address (registered or branch)
Confirm the request.
A reference number will be generated.
Delivery time: within 7 working days.
2. Apply through SBI Internet Banking.
Best for users who are comfortable with desktop/laptop access.
Time required: 5–7 minutes.
Steps:
Visit: https://www.onlinesbi.sbi.
Log in to 'Personal Banking'.
Go to e-Services > Cheque Book.
Choose an account number.
Select:
Confirm by sending an OTP to the registered mobile number.
Tracking: You can track the request status under "Cheque Book History"

For example, send CHQREQ from your registered phone number to 09223588888.
You will receive an acknowledgement SMS, and the chequebook will be delivered to your registered address.
Note:- Only 10 leaves can be requested by SMS.
5. Apply through Customer Care.
Ideal for: Those who prefer assistance. Toll-free numbers:

Can I request a chequebook for a joint account?
Yes, but it depends on the operational directions, such as either/Survivor, jointly, and so on.
How many chequeleaves may I request at once?
You can request 10, 25, or 50 leaves, depending on your needs and the platform you utilise.
If my account is not active, can I still apply for a new chequebook?
No. To begin, you must reactivate your account by visiting your home branch.
Can I request a chequebook for an inactive or frozen account?
No, SBI does not issue chequebooks for inactive or frozen accounts. To resume account activity, you must first visit your branch and go through the KYC or reactivation process.
Can I cancel a chequebook request once it has been submitted?
No, once a chequebook request has been submitted via YONO, Internet Banking, ATM, or SMS, it cannot be revoked. However, you can restrict unused cheque leaves later by requesting your branch.
Can I request a chequebook at any ATM?
Most SBI ATMs offer this feature. If not, use Internet Banking or the YONO app.
