How to Register for Standard Chartered Bank’s Net Banking?


There are two ways to register for net banking

1. Using a temporary ID and password.

2. Register by using a debit card or credit card number.

How to Register by Using Temporary ID and Password?


As a new account holder, you will be provided with a temporary ID and password in the welcome kit. Examine all the details in the documents, which are related to your account and the bank.


Step 1: Go to the official website of Standard Chartered Bank.


Step 2: Navigate your cursor to the tab "Login." A prompt will pop up. Click “Online Banking Login.” You will be redirected to another page.


Step 3: On the right sidebar, you will see “Register using Temporary ID and Password.” Click on it.


Step 4: You will be taken to the next page, where you should read the terms and conditions. After reading, click the checkbox that mentions “I agree to the terms and conditions.”


Step 5: Click the tab “Accept.


Step 6: On this page, enter your temporary ID and password, which are in the welcome kit, to initiate the registration.


Step 7: Create a new username and ensure that the username has 8 to 16 alphabets and numbers. Capital letters are not permitted.


Step 8: Set a new password and ensure that it contains 8 to 16 characters. Your password must adhere to these guidelines: one uppercase and one lowercase, followed by at least one special character or symbol with a number.


Step 9: Click “Login.” A One-Time Password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number.


Step 10: Enter the OTP. In case you have not received it. Click “Resend OTP.


Step 11: Click the checkbox after reading the terms and conditions.


Step 12: Click the tab “Continue.


You have successfully created the net banking portal for your account. You will be on the dashboard.


On the dashboard, you will see a vast range of financial services. Below the header of the website, you will see the timing and date on the last login (right side). Navigate to the different tabs and options in the sidebar. You can check your bank balance and other details related to your bank account.


How to Register by Using a Debit Card or Credit Card Number?


Step 1: Go to the official website of Standard Chartered Bank.


Step 2: Navigate your cursor to the tab "Login." A prompt will pop up. Click “Online Banking Login.” You will be redirected to another page.


Step 3: On the right sidebar, you will see the hyperlink “Click here” to register using an ATM debit card or credit card. Click that hyperlink.


Step 4: On this page, you have to click the checkbox after reading the terms and conditions. Before the next procedure, ensure that you have your active mobile number, which is registered to your bank account. Also, ensure you have your debit card.


Step 5: Click the tab “Accept.


Step 6: On the next page, enter your ATM/Debit Card number/Credit Card number; followed by that, enter the PIN. The server may ask you to enter your card’s expiry date and CVV number.


Step 7: Click “Next” and check your registered mobile number, whether it is correct or incorrect. If it is incorrect, contact the branch to change it.


Step 8: You will receive the temporary password to your registered mobile number. Click “Continue.”


Step 9: Enter the six-digit temporary password and click “Next.


Step 10: Create your username and password, adhering to the banking rules.


Step 11: Click “Next.” You have successfully created your net banking account.


Step 12: Login with the created username and password. Check all the details related to your bank account.


How to Reset the Password?


Step 1: Go to the official website of Standard Chartered Bank.


Step 2: Navigate your cursor to the tab "Login." A prompt will pop up. Click “Online Banking Login." You will be redirected to another page.


Step 3: Click “Forgot Username/Password.”


Step 4: You will be on the next page. Click the checkbox that mentions “I agree to the terms and conditions.”. Ensure that you have a debit card/credit card that is registered with your mobile number to your bank account.


Step 5: Click the tab “Accept.


Step 6: On the next page, enter your debit card number and PIN in the respective dialogue boxes. After that, click “Next.


Step 7: You will receive the OTP. Enter it to open the portal.


Step 8: Verify all your details and enter a new password. You have to re-enter it again for confirmation.

You have successfully reset your password. Login to the portal to continue using the net banking services.

How to Register for Mobile Banking?


Step 1: Install the official app from the Standard Chartered Bank via the Android Play Store or Apple App Store. The name of the app is SC Mobile India.


Step 2: After installing, the app asks your permission to access and store your data from mobile. Select “Allow.


Step 3: There will be an introductory screen about the bank. After that, select “Get Started.


Step 4: On the home screen, select “Login.


Step 5: Select “New to Mobile Banking.


Step 6: Here, you have two steps to continue:

  • Register by using a debit card or credit card.

Step 7: Read the terms and conditions. After that, choose, “I accept the terms and conditions.

Step 9: If you have chosen a temporary ID and password, enter them in the respective dialogue boxes.

If you have chosen a debit card or credit card, enter the card details.


Step 10: Set your username and password for mobile banking. Select “Login.


Step 11: An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it and select “Submit.


Step 12: Click the dialogue box and select “Next.


Step 13: Another OTP will be sent to you. Enter it and select “Submit.


Step 14: You will be in the mobile banking dashboard. You can check all the details related to your bank account.


Step 15: Select the three stacked lines on the top left side, where you can navigate to different banking services.
